Patricia Blakely is a spiritual director and contemplative retreat leader. Her emphasis is on the “art of inner listening,” awakening to the presence of the Mystery we call God through contemplative practices, ancient and modern, eastern and western. Her directees come from various religious traditions (or none). Patricia enjoys working with individuals and with small groups in her home in uptown Minneapolis and at St. Mark’s Cathedral. Members of her groups–including siblings, couples, and friends who work in similar fields–share their spiritual journeys in a safe, supportive circle of trust.
A member of the Contemplative Body of the Episcopal House of Prayer, she leads related retreats in Collegeville, Minneapolis and Duluth, MN and in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She is available for presentations on the spirituality of retirement; the spirit of the home; and the everyday contemplative. A former senior executive for a Target Corporation subsidiary, her professional background includes twenty years in publishing and direct marketing. Patricia holds an M.A. in Theology (2002) and Spiritual Direction Certification (2002) from St. Catherine University. She is a member of Spiritual Directors International. Her background is Lutheran (BA, St. Olaf, 67); she worships at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Minneapolis and St. Paul’s Episcopal in San Miguel de Allende. Patricia is a widow, mother of two sons and grandmother of four young grandchildren–her “sweet surprises.” She is the author of Carfree Living: Happy in the Not So Fast Lane.
